Lighting control in Latvia

Building Robotics plans and supplies networked lighting control for non-residential buildings in Latvia – from warehouses and production halls to offices, retail, schools and car parks. Presence and daylight sensors, high-bay sensors for mounting heights up to 22 m and energy monitoring communicate via Bluetooth Mesh, so no new control cabling is required.

The recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD, Directive (EU) 2024/1275) entered into force on 28 May 2024; member states had until the end of May 2026 to transpose it. Article 13 requires building automation and control systems and automatic lighting control with appropriate zoning and occupancy detection in non-residential buildings. The obligations become binding through national law – deadlines, thresholds and exemptions therefore differ by country, and we check them for your building as part of the project.

Regardless of when the obligation applies to you, presence and daylight control saves energy from day one, and monitoring shows the savings zone by zone.

We supply lighting control to Latvia and plan your project remotely from your floor plans. On-site survey, installation and commissioning are arranged project by project – installation can also be carried out by your local electrical contractor.

How a project works

You send us your floor plan or hall layout. We plan the sensors and show you your building as a 3D model in our own software Sensora, including how the light reacts to movement. Every project includes occupancy detection, zoning and monitoring.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver lighting control to Latvia?

Yes. We plan projects from your floor plans, show the result in 3D beforehand and supply the sensors. On-site work is arranged project by project.

Is automatic lighting control mandatory in Latvia?

The EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (Article 13) requires automatic lighting control with zoning and occupancy detection in non-residential buildings; it becomes binding through national law. We check deadlines and thresholds for your building. Not legal advice.

Can lighting control be retrofitted in existing buildings?

Yes. The sensors communicate via Bluetooth Mesh, so no new control cables are needed – sensors sit on the luminaire or on the ceiling.
